Billie Myers ‘Growing Pains’ CD, Cassette Featuring the song ‘Kiss the Rain’. While working out one day, Desmond Child heard Bush on the radio, singing a line about “kiss the rain.” “No, no,” Jon Bon Jovi, exercising nearby, corrected him, “they’re singing ‘Glycerine.’” Desmond liked his lyric better, and along with Billie Myers and Eric Bazilian composed this song.

Billy Codham The bass line from one of his songs was used in ‘Comedown’. Massive Attack also used the same bass line in their song ‘Safe from harm’ off the album ‘Blue Lines’ (source: bush’s forum message board 2002- a post by Gavin himself )

Bleachin’ ‘Comin’ Down’ Promo CD, Maxi CD Single from their album ‘Everyone Loves Everything’s Free’ where they used samples of Comedown.

Bleachin’ ‘Everyone Loves Everything’s Free’ CD, Vinyl Dj’s Healy & Amos remixed Comedown in 2000. (oddly enough Dj Healy was good friends with Boy George during Boy’s Dj days in the early 90′s)

Blue Man Group ‘The Complex’ CD Gavin lends his vocals to the track ‘The Current’, also features Chris on guitar.

Boy George & Spencer Bright ‘Take it Like a Man’ Book This is an autobiography written by & about Boy George. He mentions Gavin (very briefly) in his book. Summary: Boy is having a conversation with this female who claims that she is dating Gavin at the time (1984-85). Boy mentions that his good friend Marilyn (quite the gender bender) also ‘dated’ Gavin at some point. I kind of picked up that Marilyn’s idea of dating ranged from one nite stands to about a week long relationship. Page 341.

Chris Coco ‘New Wave’ CD Featuring Gavin Rossdale doing some vocals. Sacha Puttnam is credited with doing: strings, vocals, guitar, bass, producer, programming, and program engineer. Also, Chris Traynor notes for guitar textures.

David Bowie ‘Hunky Dory’ CD The phrase ‘Mickey Mouse has grown up a cow’ appears both in this Bowie’s song ‘Life on Mars’ (circa 1970) and in Bush’s song ‘Everything Zen’. Gavin has been quoted stating that he has used David Bowie as inspiration, but he has never mention any specific songs. In addition to this song I swore I heard another Bowie song that also had a lyric that was used in a Bush song.

David Carson ’2nd Sight’ Book This quote from that book. “I was standing in my kitchen in Del Mar, at the sink. talking on the phone and I was telling a guy from the band Future Primitive that it was a really bad name. Then later when I am designing the sleeve he tells me that we have to mention his dog somewhere on the sleeve… and the dog is called Bush. So I suggested: there’s your name.” There are a few other meanings to the word. “One of my bigger mistakes was later turning down directing the Bush video…” – I think this guy is full of shit. DT8 Project ‘Perfect World’ CD Gavin Rossdale is featured on the song ‘Falling’ mixed by this Dj also known as Darren Tate. Released in 2007.

No Doubt ‘Return of Saturn’ CD, Cassette, Vinyl There were various songs written about Gavin including ‘ex-girlfriend’, ‘bathwater’, & ‘marry me’ (as reported in Rolling Stone July 6-20 2000)

No Doubt ‘Rock Steady’ CD, Cassette, Vinyl This is Gwen were talking about…so the album is tainted with Gavin.

Parasite Cassette I bought this 2 track demo on Ebay claiming to be Gavin Rossdale in another band called Parasite. This was suppose to be a couple of their demo songs. The seller claims that some German exchange student had brought it over to the US with him and gave him the cassette. It has been confirmed that this is not Gavin.

Rumble ‘Mister Preacher’ CD single Robin tried to sneak this one by us. Featuring Robin from Bush on drums and the recording/production skills of Luke Baldry from Earth Terminal Music Co, in the U.K. and Ian Faith of Farren Music America. Released on Sept 14, 1999, but original music is copy write 1993.

Sensation ‘Burger Habit’ CD Formerly known as ‘Soul Family Sensation’ , this is another Pre-Bush band that Robin was a part of. And just like the Rumble (album mentioned above) this record wasn’t actually released until 1999. Robin only appears on 5 tracks, which leads me to believe this album is a mix of old and new songs.

Westwood One Entertainment: Laserlight Audio Book on CD ‘Kurt Cobain’ CD Gavin appears on this cd giving his thoughts on the late Kurt Cobain. Bush also provides music on the cd.
