Reviews
Mariana Barbosa: All the 3000 people on the coliseum and even the press were very excited about this first Bush show here on Portuguese lands. About 10pm, ‘a Tendency to start fires’ opened the night, then ‘Personal Holloway’ and ‘Machine head’ made every single person jump around and sing all the lyrics. Gavin have jumped a few times during the show right next to the crowd, saying ‘hi’ to the devoted fans on the first row. The concert goes on with ‘Insect kin’ , ‘Mouth’ and ‘Everything Zen’ , this last one, a song that Gavin called as a ‘actually Brit. pop state song’. While the singer was rolling down on the floor playing his guitar with all his energy, Nigel was calmly smoking his cigar on a corner during the performance of ‘Cold contagious’ . Bush has reserved a few special songs, ‘Glycerine’ was the first one, with Gavin alone on the stage and then ‘Bonedriven’… this must be the most intimate moment of the night with all the lighters on, it was a perfect scenario. Seconds later with all the elements on stage, they returned to attack again , ‘Testosterone’ , ‘Body’ and ‘Comedown’ were played before the encore. ‘Swallowed’, ‘Greedy Fly’ and ‘Little things’ finished the night with a few strings broken, smashed guitars on the floor, crazy jumps and very loud screams.
