Denver 26 Feb

DENVER, COLORADO

Hi there, it’s freezing. I've never seen things to do in Denver when you’re dead but I’m working on things to do when you haven’t brought enough warm clothes. The shops seem to have stopped selling them (or I suspect have sold out, judging by the amount everybody is wearing here) and moved onto summer. I’m not really inspired to buy shorts right now. The sport shop it’ll have to be for a woolly hat with a sports team on the front. I think I’ll choose NY Yankees; they’re everybody’s Favourite team. right ?

We’re starting our tour here in Denver tonight. It seems as sensible place as any in February. We’ve a whole new albums worth of songs to play, so it will be fun. A lot of the cities we haven’t played for a while so it will be good to see you all again. I think gigs are the best part of being in a band.
Driving for 17 hours to Milwaukee probably isn’t so we’ll fly that one. The crew have opted for the good to see you and get to Know you again option though. I just saw them putting their luggage on there bus, it’s good to see how many clean clothes they’’ve brought with them.

Nigel can’t be with us for this tour, he’s having another baby. blimey!. Chris Traynor is stepping into his shoes (creepers) and will be wearing his lucky green tour t-shirt. I suppose our tour bus will be a different place and we’ll soon know Chris’ bad habits. I think musically we’ll be fine, but the burning tour questions are, who will I find to play Chelsea v Liverpool on the play station football game endlessly? Will Liverpool finally win a game?Who will I go to shopping malls to by stuff we don’’t need with?

Maybe Chris, maybe I’ll be learning a foreign language? Knitting? New drinking games? The point of baseball? I’ll keep you posted.
