the sound of you
Flying through the clouds-on my way to florida.i’m playing a small acoustic show for a friend of mine.chris is meeting me there to accompany me on few songs.
It should be fun and all-but it is a private party else I would have hoped you’d be there.
It was great to be home although the first week is always strange with the long nights
and half days.as long as I’m not having to get up in the morning it is a lovely secluded
bat-like existence.
I have always loved the quiet of night-after festivities-deserted streets.the way the light breaks through and the day has potential.it’s the traffic buzz that levels you back to another day,whereas the calm of dawn still has magic and privacy.
There was one morning I had to be up though.ugggghhhh but there was good reason.the video
-it went really well I think.i should say that for me it was simple and I hope our performance works.as a slow song you just don’t know how it’s going because it’s all about your eyes as all movements are slow.
The narrative stuff,as in the story of the video is very touching and heartfelt with
A cool guy with a lovely girl he leaves behind as he’s going off to war,it’s set in the 70’s.
If you’’ve seen the deerhunter,then the wedding scene in that was the start point.
Obviously I was nervous of a wedding backdrop since it was a little close to life.so we opted for a graduation party or something.
Anyhow guisseppe the director was real easy to work with and I like him a lot.
It was made easy by him and he put the actors and band very much at ease.
I obviously hope you get to see it and are moved by it.we’ll see.
The shows are starting again on Friday-it’’s only a couple of weeks and then to Europe for the festivals.
Arsenal are winning -we are in the final of the fa cup and top of the premiership at the time of writing.four games to go.
Will we do the double???????we pray.
I am sad I will not be there to see it and will endeavour to get videos of the games
And all that……..
